First off, what is limited and full registration?
Limited registration is when you obtain AKC paperwork showing sire, dam, and you are able to register your dog to enter in events. You won't however be able to register any offspring if you decided to breed or have an accidental litter.
Full registration is when you obtain AKC paperwork showing sire, dam, and you are able to register your dog to enter into events AND are able to breed your dog and are able to register offspring.

Why do we choose limited registration on all of our puppies?
We sell all of our puppies with limited registration because we want to help prevent unethical breeding. Just because you purchased a high quality puppy doesn't mean that puppy should turn into a breed-able dog. There are lots of excellent dogs out there that don't quite make breeding potential or shouldn't be bred based on physical or training characteristics that are undesirable.
For example we don't breed any dogs that don't pass eye, elbow, and hips testing. We don't breed dogs that are whiney, kennel pacers, have poor physical build or not ascetically pleasing (too short of ears, cow hocked, poor build), barkers, socially awkward or aggressive. We don't keep bitchy females or confrontational males. We don't breed any dogs with low or moderate field performance. We breed dogs with desirable traits to combine with other desirable traits to give the puppies the best chance of being successful.

Are customers able to obtain full registration?
Yes. There are some stipulations to it though.
- The dog must pass eyes, elbow, and hips. Elbows must be normal and hips must be good to excellent. OFA and Penhipp are accepted. For Penhipp we like to see hips scores at 10 or under.
- A genetic panel must be done as well. Peace of mind for you and customers. Don't want to breed a carrier to a carrier.
- The dog must be of good physical form, fitness, and ascetically pleasing.
- The dog must perform in the field. NO PETS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR BREEDING. They need a job and preform above average.
- Your breeding plan is ethical. You understand the ins and outs of breeding. If we don't feel your plan is ethical or simply we just don't like you, we won't grant you full registration.
- Required to breed to another British Labrador of similar or superior quality.
WHat if I purchase a started dog with plans to breed it?
We sell several started dogs a year and raise and train several puppies a year for people. We as breeders take risks with every puppy we raise, purchase to raise, or even a started dog to potentially add to our program. Customers are not exempt from the same amount of risk. The only way to get around this risk factor is by purchasing a dog that has already been health tested. We don't sell dogs often with this perk.... usually only when we are downsizing our program.
We are not a loophole to get around other breeders....
We often use outside studs in our program to add lines for ourselves. We are not a loophole around other breeders to get breeding rights. If we purchase a puppy from other breeders we have an agreement if we don't keep them for ourselves we sell them with limited registration.
Reasons that are not reasons to have a litter...
- I want my kids to experience a litter
- I really want a pup out of my female or male.
- Recouping funds simply because dogs are expensive.
- My friends want puppies... (most of them back out the last minute)
- It would be fun.....
