6 Week Quickstart Programs

Whether you are looking for a budget friendly option, we offer 6 week courses to kickstart your pup's education! You can do obedience only if you just have a pet or you can add on bird/shed work as well! These programs are to help you get started on a well rounded head start on your pup or young dog!
$1350.00 (food & board included)

Obedience/Behavioral

  • We work on basic manners (no jumping, barking, personal space, busting through doors, and so on...)
  • Establish clear boundaries and a healthy handler/dog relationship
  • Building solid behaviors such as heeling, sitting, staying, place work, recall building consistency
  • Gaining the dog's mental focus through consistent clear expectations
  • Introduce the E collar properly and condition the dog in both positive and corrective. We want them to be comfortable not fearful.
  • We focus less on how many commands a dog can do but more how well he can do the necessary day to day obedience tasks.
  • Learning the art of doing nothing, encouraging calm behavior

Upland/Waterfowl

  • Obedience panel as described above
  • Introduction to birds ( we use pigeons, chukars, and pheasants)
    • We use what we have available depending on the time of year.
  • Introduce gunfire (starter pistols)
  • We work on developing prey drive in the pup/young dog whether a retriever or a pointer.
  • We evaluate their retrieving habits (easy to retrieve, crunches birds, tries to eat them, or no retrieve)
  • If we have warm weather we will do water work
  • Whistle introduction if client wants it
  • Get puppy or young dog out into cover and see their natural tendencies to see what needs to be worked on

Shed Hunting

  • Obedience panel implied as described above
  • Introduce sheds and scent to the pup
  • Get the puppy retrieving the shed
  • Hiding shed in light cover and get the pup to use their nose
  • We push the puppy as far as we can. Some puppies are naturals and we can do quite a bit and some need more work. Sooner we can have the puppy running set courses the better!

This is not a full program. Just to help you get started and evaluate your dog's potential. If you'd like additional training for intermediate or advanced training let us know and we can make a plan together!
